Summary of Significant Accounting Policies |
NOTE 2. SUMMARY OF SIGNIFICANT ACCOUNTING POLICIES There have been no changes to our significant accounting policies described in Note 2 to our Annual Report on Form 10-K for the year ended December 31, 2020, filed with the SEC on March 4, 2021, that have had a material impact on our Condensed Consolidated Financial Statements and related notes. Recent Accounting Pronouncements Changes to accounting principles are established by the FASB in the form of ASUs to the FASB’s Codification. We consider the applicability and impact of all ASUs on our financial position, results of operations, cash flows, or presentation thereof. Described below are ASUs that may be applicable to our financial position, results of operations, cash flows, or presentation thereof. ASUs not listed below were assessed and determined to not be applicable to our financial position, results of operations, cash flows, or presentation thereof. In January 2021, the FASB issued ASU 2021-01, Reference Rate Reform (Topic 848): Scope Reference Rate Reform In June 2016, the FASB issued ASU
2016-13, Financial Instruments-Credit Losses, held-to-maturity available-for-sale 2016-13, the FASB issued ASU 2018-19, Codification Improvements to Topic 326, Financial Instruments—Credit Losses 2016-13. ASU 2018-19 has the same effective date and transition requirements as ASU 2016-13. In April 2019, the FASB issued ASU 2019-04, Codification Improvements to Topic 326, Financial Instruments – Credit Losses, Topic 815, Derivatives and Hedging, and Topic 825, Financial Instruments 2016-13. In May 2019, the FASB issued ASU 2019-05, Financial Instruments – Credit Losses (Topic 326) 2016-13. In October 2019, the FASB voted to delay the implementation date for certain companies, including those, such as Salem, that qualify as a smaller reporting company under SEC rules, until January 1, 2023. We will adopt this ASU on its effective date of January 1, 2023. We do not expect the adoption of this ASU to have a material impact on our consolidated financial position, results of operations, cash flows, or presentation thereof. |
