Ultimate Givers: 99.5 FM KKLA and KFSH 95.9 FM Contest Makes Giving the Focus

LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

Recognizing that "it is better to give than to receive," 99.5 FM KKLA and The Fish(R) 95.9 FM are putting a new spin on the old adage by giving away five pairs of cars. The winner gets to keep one car and give the other away to their nominee. More than 700 Los Angeles and Orange County listeners have called with compelling stories of why a friend, a neighbor or a colleague deserves a new car since the campaign began January 2. The winner of the first pair of cars - 2007 Dodge Calibers from Glenn E. Thomas Dodge, Long Beach - will be randomly selected from a drawing of finalists January 26.

"We've touched a chord with this effort that is more about generosity than greed," said Terry Fahy, general manager and vice president of operations for Salem Los Angeles. "'Ultimate Givers' allows us to reach out in partnership with our friends and neighbors to meet real needs of real people."

One recent caller explained why she wanted her nominee to win. "My next door neighbor is always giving to others. She and her husband are going through a hard time. They both lost their jobs recently and are looking for work. She has given so much of her time to our neighborhood. I would like her to win both of the cars."

Following the first drawing on January 26, the stations kick off phase two of 'Ultimate Givers', with two cars to be given away every few months throughout the year. The 'Ultimate Givers' hotline is 888-744-3777. Information may also be accessed at www.kkla.com and www.thefish959.com.
