John Butler Joins Salem Communications as National Director for News Talk
CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
Salem Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SALM), a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values, today announced that John Butler has been named national program director for News Talk programming, effective immediately.
"Butler will leverage his extensive experience in talk radio as a programmer, news director, and operations manager to drive our News Talk platform to the next level," said Joe Davis, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Salem Communications. "His role provides strategic support and direction for our general managers, station programmers and hosts. With a radio career spanning four decades, Butler began as news reporter and anchor in Sacramento and Los Angeles. He served as correspondent and anchor for ABC Radio News in New York and news director at KFBK in Sacramento. During the 1990s, Butler was program director for KMBZ and KCMO in Kansas City. Later, he moved to Washington D.C. where he was program director at WMAL, and more recently, vice president of broadcast media for Z Comm.
Butler will be located in Dallas, Texas, headquarters for Salem Radio Network.
