Lelani Williams Appointed Station Cluster Manager of Salem Radio in Honolulu, Hawaii
CAMARILLO, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 07/11/11 -- Salem Communications (NASDAQ: SALM), a leading U.S. Radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, magazine and book publisher targeting religious and family themed programming, announced Leilani Williams has been named Station Cluster Manager in Honolulu, Hawaii. Leilani will be apprenticing for the role of General Manager, which she will take on upon Jeff Coelho's retirement in December of this year.
Having lived in the Honolulu community for many years, Leilani's radio career began with New Planet Radio, KGMZ 107.9, KRTR 96.3 and KXME 104.3, she helped launch Xtreme Radio (KXME 104.3) selling both short-term and long-term advertising campaigns before the stations even made a rating book. Leilani went to work for Clear Channel Radio in Hawaii selling for KIKI 93.9, KSSK 92.3, KDNN 98.5, KUCD 101.9 and KHVH 860AM where she was a top senior seller and President's Club recipient. In 2007 she was promoted to Station Manager for Hot 93.9 in Honolulu.
For the past two years she has served as COO of Williams Aerospace, a company founded by her husband.
She is active in the community serving as the Vice President for The Well of Hope Foundation, a board member with the Kapolei Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce Dual Use and High Technology committee.
She has also been the Chair and Co-chair for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's "Light the Night" national event in Hawaii.
