Salem Communications Announces David Koon New General Manager for Orlando Stations
ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
David Koon has been named general manager for Salem Orlando, which includes News Talk WORL-AM 660, Life Changing Radio WTLN-AM 950, and WHIM-AM 1520, according to the announcement by Salem Communications (NASDAQ:SALM), a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and family-themed content and conservative values.

Koon's career began in the mid-1970s in Shreveport, La., where he pioneered the first contemporary Christian radio station for that market. He brings to Salem Orlando a 30-year record in Christian and general radio management and sales, most recently with Salem Media of Georgia where he was sales manager for the Atlanta cluster of stations. Previously, Koon served as sales manager for WVFJ-FM in Atlanta and KCFO-AM in Tulsa.
In addition to its radio properties, Salem owns Salem Radio Network(R) which syndicates talk, news and music programming to approximately 2,000 affiliates; Salem Radio Representatives(TM), a national radio advertising sales force; Salem Web Network(TM), a leading Internet provider of Christian content and online streaming; and Salem Publishing(TM), a leading publisher of Christian-themed magazines.
