SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Salem Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:SALM), a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider and magazine publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian- and family-themed content and conservative values, today announced that Dave Armstrong, vice president and general manager of Salems New York cluster, will return to California to manage Salems San Diego stations K-Praise 1210 AM KPRZ and News Talk 1170 AM KCBQ. M. Susan Lucchesi has been appointed general manager of the New York stations, WMCA 570 AM and WWDJ 970 AM.

Joe D. Davis, executive vice president and chief operating officer of Salem, said, Dave Armstrong brings years of radio experience and a unique understanding of West Coast radio, having grown Los Angeles from a one-station operation into a successful five-station cluster during his 10 years as general manager there. We expect he will bring that same kind of creativity and drive to the San Diego market.

Armstrong spent the past three years as vice president and general manager of WMCA and WWDJ in New York. During that time, he was responsible for developing new media partnerships, including establishing an exclusive Christian Teaching and Talk channel with AOL to provide Internet radio to AOL subscribers. Armstrong also launched PodPLUS, on demand programming for local ministries.

Responding to the new appointment, Armstrong said, I am excited about returning to California. There is a great team in place at KPRZ and KCBQ, and I look forward to the opportunity to work with them in the further development of our San Diego stations.
