Vance Dillard Named Program Director for Solid Gospel Network

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 19, 2005--Salem Communications Corporation (Nasdaq:SALM), the leading radio broadcaster focused on Christian and family-themed programming, announced that Salem Music Network Program Director Vance Dillard will add programming duties for SMN's Solid Gospel Network. He continues to serve as program director for the company's Today's Christian Music Network and The Word in Praise Network.

Dillard joined Salem Music Network in the fall of 2003. He began his career in the 1970's working for full-service adult AM stations, and in the 1980's served as program director for a top-rated station in Tampa. In 1988 he went to work for Jacor (now part of Clear Channel) and stayed with the company for 12 years. He spent one year of that time as WLW-Cincinnati operations manager and the rest of the time as program director of Atlanta's adult contemporary station, Peach-FM. Additionally, he served as the corporate adult contemporary brand manager. He followed that with a similar post at South Central Communications, owners of several adult contemporary formatted stations, including top-rated WJXA-FM in Nashville.

In related moves, Solid Gospel afternoon drive personality Greg Goodman moves to mid-days and adds production director duties. Weekend personality Jeremy Sweat is promoted to afternoon drive. And within the Today's Christian Music operation, Suzanne Thunder has been promoted to mid-day personality after serving several years as an evening air personality.
