SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 15, 2003--KPRZ's Dana Sturgeon, host of "The Dana Sturgeon Show" and midday host on KPRZ 1210AM, was awarded the 2003 Achievement in Radio (A.I.R.) Award for "Best Talk Show Host" by the San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association, at a ceremony on October 9, 2003. Sturgeon, who is also a contributing editor for Salem Communications' (Nasdaq:SALM) "Salem Family Minutes," a syndicated feature commentary in 14 of Salem's stations nationwide, competed against San Diego radio veteran Roger Hedgecock. "The Dana Sturgeon Show" delivers hard-hitting views, warm-hearted insights, candid opinions and compassionate concerns to listeners, middays from 2-3 p.m. Monday through Friday on KPRZ 1210AM. Dana's unique format and genuine delivery have helped her to create a unique niche in San Diego's radio market, reaffirming Radio Business Report's prediction earlier this year of female-led talk shows, "Female talk radio isn't a matter of if. It's a matter of when." (www.rbr.com).

"The Dana Sturgeon Show," hosted by Dana Sturgeon, is produced by Gloria Deloney with production elements engineered by Bruce Johnson.

The San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association is an organization of San Diego radio stations collectively promoting radio and its benefits to advertisers. Membership includes station general managers and sales managers representing twenty-five area radio stations. Founded in 1987 in Washington D.C., the A.I.R. Awards were established by radio station personnel and the March of Dimes as an event to recognize excellence in radio while raising funds for the vital mission of the March of Dimes Birth Defects.
