Salem Communications Appoints Two New Vice Presidents of Operations

CAMARILLO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 2, 2003--Salem Communications (Nasdaq:SALM), the leading radio broadcaster focused on religious and family themed programming, has announced the appointments of Errol Dengler and T.J. Malievsky to Regional Vice Presidents of Operations according to Executive Vice President of Radio, Joe D. Davis.

With this promotion, Mr. Dengler, who is General Manager of Salem Media of Cleveland, will assume direct operational oversight of the Ohio and Pennsylvania U.S. radio markets.

Mr. Dengler has been a General Manager for Salem Communications since October 2000. Prior to working for Salem, Mr. Dengler was Vice President and General Manager for AMFM Inc. During his career he has also worked for such media companies as: OmniAmerica, Inc., Chancellor Broadcasting and Wyse Advertising. During Mr. Dengler's tenure as General Manager for Salem he has been an integral part of the rollout of the company's contemporary Christian music format. Under his direction, WFHM-FM 95.5 the Fish has achieved excellence in ratings and revenue.

With this promotion, Mr. Malievsky, who is General Manager of Salem of Hawaii, will assume direct operational oversight of the Honolulu, Hawaii, Sacramento and San Diego, California U.S. radio markets.

Mr. Malievsky has been a General Manager for Salem Communications since June 2002. Prior to working for Salem, Mr. Malievsky was CEO for All American TV Network in Santa Ana, California. He has extensive sales and programming experience following his employment with Middle East TV, CBN and Zoe International. Mr. Malievsky's management career in radio began as Vice President and General Manager for KPOI Radio in Honolulu, Hawaii.
