Changes at Salem's KFIS in Portland, Oregon
CAMARILLO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 07/09/12 -- Salem Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: SALM), a leading U.S. radio broadcaster, Internet content provider, and magazine and book publisher targeting audiences interested in Christian and conservative opinion content, announced today Chris Kelly as Dave Arthur's replacement as Program Director at KFIS-FM Portland, Oregon. Chris joins the Portland team after a very successful run at Cox Radio in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It was there that Chris realized great ratings success programming stations that included Christian AC, KKCM-FM from 2006-2009. "I'm excited for Chris to join the team here in Portland and look forward to watching the continued success at KFIS under his leadership," said outgoing PD, Dave Arthur. This past May, KFIS Program Director Dave Arthur announced his resignation from the company to relocate to Boise, Idaho.
Chris joined the team Monday, June 25th while Dave will remain with the station through early July to help with the transition.
Dave Arthur has been with KFIS since the station signed on in 2001. "Dave Arthur was our first employee hired on the FISH as our afternoon personality and within a matter of a year, he became our program director as well. Dave's voice is synonymous with everyone listening to the FISH. Over the years his wit, love for Jesus and his 'we can do it' spirit have been admired," said KFIS General Manager Dennis Hayes.
